BIOGRAPHY

Carlos Muñoz received his first degree in Human Communication in 1999. He worked as cameraman and editor for commercial video and documentaries. In 2002, Cmuñoz attended to learn skills of directing, editing and screenwriting at The University Center of Cinematographic Studies of the National Autonomous University of Mexico CUEC UNAM. The oldest film school in Latin America, and one of the most prestigious film schools in the world.

During year 2007 he was awarded by Mexican Institute of Cinematography to develop LA PURISIMA / THE INMACULATE a short film released at the XXIII International Film Festival of Guadalajara. This project was screening in over 20 Film Festivals around the world. With NACIÓN APACHE / APACHE NATION, his diploma film, he won many awards, the most important the AUDIENCE AWARD in The BEIJING FILM FESTIVAL, the special mention as Achievement in direction in the SHORT SHORTS FILM FESTIVAL, BEST EDITING & SCREENPLAY at the Lanterna Film Fest and also was official selectionat San Sebastian Film Festival on 2009.

"ESTOY AQUÍ POR UNA NOCHE the days with Abbie" is his first docummentary feature film, won the Prize for Final Process at the Merida Yucatan International Film Festival and was screening over different film festivals around the world. In 2022 he started career as artist with his first pictorical serie THE CAT CONSPIRACY.

 

Currently C. Muñoz is developing a fiction film called "TRIRTY SOMETHING" and works  directing projects for advertising and publicity, making commercial photo and making BTS photo and video.
